Payment Process
The cost to apply for Singapore type approval will be charged after you submit all the required documents on the IMDA portal. After that, you will be asked by the system and via email to make an online payment via ePayment.
If the applicant fails to make the payment within 30 days of the email notification, the application will be canceled. IMDA will only process the application after payment confirmation is received.
At this stage, IMDA will evaluate the documents. If the evaluation is successful, the certificate will be issued immediately. However, if it is unsuccessful, the missing documents must be completed, and then they will be re-evaluated by IMDA.
The registration application may be rejected if it is found to be incomplete or does not meet the specified requirements. Resubmission will incur a new registration fee.
What to Do After the Certificate is Issued?
The certificate will be issued after the evaluation process is declared successful. This means that your product has officially obtained permission to use telecommunications equipment/devices in Singapore. However, certification is not the only requirement for selling telecommunications and wireless devices.
There are label requirements for Singapore type approval that must be met. All devices that have been certified by IMDA must be labeled. Here, you need to include the Dealer’s License number as proof that the device has been certified.
The label must be affixed to the product and its packaging. Alternatively, applicants are also allowed to apply electronic labels.
That’s all you need to know about the cost to apply for Singapore type approval. By knowing this from the outset, you can plan your budget better.
Basically, applying for IMDA certification requires fees that depend on the type of application chosen. Broadly speaking, three options need to be paid for, namely new equipment model, modified equipment, and subsequent model of a family series.
