What is the Paperwork Application for RF Type Approval?

In the application process, each country has its own rules. In general, tests conducted in laboratories must meet applicable international standards.

It is also important to ensure compliance with the destination country’s requirements for frequency usage, power levels, and emission limits. Typically, the authorities of each country already have a list of registered and accredited international laboratories. In Thailand, document applications are recommended for the NBTC certification process.

Is Local Testing for Thai Type Approval Mandatory?

Local testing for Thailand type approval is not mandatory because the NBTC accepts test report from overseas laboratories that meet applicable international standards. This means that applying for Thai type approval is optional.

The absence of local testing requirements makes the certification process shorter. This certainly simplifies the process for applicants.

The number of samples required will depend on the testing requirements and the policies of the laboratory used. It all depends on the testing requirements for the device being submitted.

Foreign Laboratory Testing Requirements

Local testing is not recommended in Thailand; it is important to be aware of the requirements for approved laboratories. The conformity assessment of overseas laboratories for paperwork application for Thailand type approval must present the report esults of equipment testing conducted in accordance with NBTC Standards.

Therefore, all laboratories worldwide that meet NBTC accreditation and standard requirements can use their test report as certification application requirements. Importantly, laboratories must be able to meet Radio Frequency (RF) test and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test standards.
