These two authorities have different jurisdictions and do not recognize one another. Consequently, certificates issued by MTIT Sana’a are not valid for MTIT Aden, and vice versa.
MTIT Sana’a
MTIT Sana’a is the authority whose jurisdiction covers the northern region and the capital, Sana’a. It operates under the Houthi government. This authority has been issuing type approval certifications for the past several years and continues to do so.
MTIT Aden
MTIT Aden is the authority whose jurisdiction covers Aden and other southern regions. It was established in 2015, but it is the one recognized internationally. This authority began issuing its own certificates in late December 2025 and early 2026.

Because there is no mandatory labeling, the validity period of Yemen type approval does not affect the label requirements. When the certificate expires, you just make a renewal certificate, without changing the label.
