Who can be an Applicant for RF Certification in Thailand?

This regulation specifies that applicants must be Thai nationals or legal entities established under Thai law. Foreign companies are not permitted to submit applications directly; they must appoint a Thai national or a Thai company as their representative.
Three types of applicants
According to the regulations, there are three types of applicants for RF certification in Thailand. They are Thai nationals, Thai legal entities, and local representatives.
- Thai citizen: Unlike in most countries, in Thailand, an individual may act as an importer or distributor.
- Thai legal entities: Manufacturers, importers, and distributors registered under Thai law and registered with the NBTC Office.
- Local representative: A Thai national or local Thai company acting as a representative for a foreign manufacturer as the official applicant, certificate holder, and the party fully responsible for compliance with regulations in Thailand.
Things To Do Before Applying for a Certificate
Before submitting an application, there are two things applicants need to pay attention to: verifying their status and registering with the NBTC Office. Without these two steps, your certification application will be deemed unsuccessful from the start.
Applicant Status
The first step the NBTC takes in the RF certification process in Thailand is to verify the applicant’s status. If the applicant does not meet the applicable requirements, the certification process cannot proceed at all.
Therefore, it is important to ensure that the applicant meets the specified requirements. For foreign companies, selecting the right local representative from the very beginning is the most critical step in the certification process.
You must also ensure the local representative understands the entire NBTC certification process and stays up to date on the latest regulations. Additionally, ensure that the local representative is registered with the NBTC and has experience in applying for RF certification.
Supplier code
After meeting the requirements, all three types of applicants for RF certification in Thailand must register with the NBTC Office. Upon registration, they will receive a four-digit supplier code.
