Cost to Apply for RF Certification in Singapore
The cost of applying for RF certification in Singapore depends on the type of registration you choose. As we know, there are five types of certification administered by IMDA, each with a different fee structure.
The payment components are divided into new products, modifications, and renewals. One type of registration is free of charge, but the other four have different fees for each payment component.

Knowing the type of registration from the start will help you understand all the costs involved. Here are the details of each payment component for each type of registration.

The Payment Process
Once you know the fees you need to pay for each IMDA certification application, you will need to find out when you must make the payment.
IMDA does not require payment upfront; instead, payment is made after your documents have been submitted via the GoBusiness Licensing Portal. Once the entire upload process has been successfully completed, you will receive a payment notification via the system and by email.
You do not have to pay immediately. IMDA allows 30 days to complete the payment. However, if you exceed this period, your application will be automatically cancelled.
IMDA will only begin the evaluation process once payment has been made. Please ensure you make the payment on time so that your certificate can be issued promptly.
What Happens After Payment
Once payment is confirmed, IMDA will begin the evaluation process for your documents. This is when it is determined whether your product passes certification or not.
For products that pass the evaluation, a certificate will be issued immediately. However, for products that do not pass, you must complete the missing documents and resubmit them.
Once the certificate is issued, you will be required to affix the IMDA label to the device and its packaging. Label requirements for RF certification in Singapore are mandatory.
Failing to comply means your product is considered illegal, even if it has been certified. You may even face penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment.
Things to Note
Any product that does not pass the evaluation and is resubmitted will be required to pay the registration fee again. There are no fee adjustments. You will be required to pay the same fee as when you made the initial payment.
Therefore, you need to ensure that your documents are complete from the start. This is just as important as knowing the amount of the required fee.
