Validity Period for RF Certification in Indonesia
The validity period for RF certification in Indonesia is regulated in Ministerial Regulation No. 3 of 2024, Article 18. There are three important points mentioned in this regulation.
- The certificate has no expiration date.
- Products may be manufactured, assembled, or imported for up to three years from the date of issuance.
- A new certificate will be required after three years if the product is still being manufactured or imported.
In this context, we understand that DJID certification itself has no expiration date. However, the right to import and sell the product is limited to three years from the date the certificate is issued.
What Happens After Three Years?
This regulation often confuses manufacturers. In simple terms, products that are no longer manufactured, assembled, or imported after 3 years are not required to be recertified.
You may continue to sell existing inventory in Indonesia using the original certificate until it is depleted.
Recertification is only required if you intend to continue manufacturing and marketing the product in Indonesia after three years.
During recertification, you may still use the test reports from the original certification as long as the referenced technical regulations remain in effect. However, if there are changes to the technical regulations or product specifications, you will have no choice but to conduct new testing.
How to Apply for Recertification?
During recertification, Dimulti typically reviews your most recent test report. If you have test results from a foreign laboratory, we will re-verify the laboratory's accreditation and ensure the report bears a valid electronic signature.
If you have test results from a local laboratory, we will ensure that the regulations governing those test reports are still in effect.
If none of the above points are in conflict, no further action is required. However, if there are any discrepancies, retesting will be necessary. The lead time for RF certification in Indonesia is based on the initial certification.
Recertification and Label
Undergoing recertification does not mean there will be no impact on your products. The newly issued certificate number must be included on the product label.
The new label applies only to products that are still in production or have not yet been imported into Indonesia. You do not need to update the labels on products already on the market.
